Counting Months

Just wanted to share- 

My aunt is so confused by why we count the weeks now.  She says she only knows months and told me how to figure out mine.

Take your due date - mine is May 14 - and count backward from 9 months for each month. April 14 would be 8 months, March 14 would be 7 months, etc.

So now when I talk to an "older" person, I know what to say.  Right now I tell them that I'm just about 3 months.

I'm glad someone explained this to me! Last night I went to dinner with my inlaws and we saw one of my husbands friends from high school. Of course the proud grandparents announced I was pregnant. He went on to ask..."so what, your like a month?" LOL! Men! I didn't know how to answer so I said, 11 weeks. Poor guy is probably way confused.

This is helpful! Everyone always asks how far along I am and I reply in weeks, but I think most people are expecting you to respond in months. Thanks!!

No wonder it's confusing! I am 12.5 weeks but not quite three months. That doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. But I trust that it does to someone!

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to respond in months because I think parents are the only ones who count weeks (first pregnancy, then baby).

This is what confuses me too. Im 11 weeks, but I'd probably say I'm IN my 3rd month. Or is that more confusing?

Yes, I would say "I am in my 3rd month" or "I'm 2 1/2 months" or something similar.
