viola girls

(I know there are a lot of us)

My sister and I played at my grandpa's funeral today - he loved it and he always loved to listen, so we played even though I really haven't in years. It was fun (and sounded pretty decent, I think!)

Re: viola girls

  • Not a viola girl (actually a mezzo-soprano kind of girl), but I love this!  (And I'm sure he did, too!)

  • Aww, that's so great.  What did you play?
  • Awesome! I bet it was great.

Like I said, I have a viola duet book for Christmas music as well as a piano accompaniment. We need to have a get together so we can play and eat cookies! :)

  • I am not musically inclined whatsoever, but I'm sure it was beautiful and such a special thing for you and your sister to do.

You and Kelli can bring your instruments to the cookie exchange and play for us :)

Woot! How fun would that be.  Maybe we should have a "Christmas party" as an excuse to get together near Andrew's birthday, like your party for Rowan.

I didn't have a song list ahead, so we sight-read through the whole mass.  So that was all of the standard Catholic mass songs, and Ave Maria (my sister sat that one out), Eagle's Wings, Shepard Me O God, Be Not Afraid, hmmm I forget what else. I'm not sure if you would be familiar with these or not.
