Give me your opinions on these boy names, please

I like Mason Reed. DH likes Lennon Reed.

I think if I name my kid Lennon everyone will call him Lenny and I'm not diggin' that.

DH can only think of people calling his kid a mason jar if we go with my pick.

Ugh... What do you think? Any names similar to Mason that I might like? Or how about switching out DH's pick and naming the kid Reed Lennon?

Well, I completely and utterly despise Mason, so I have to go with YH. While Lennon is by no means my favorite, it does have a pleasant sound and a good association.

However, if neither of you can agree, maybe you should keep looking to find a name you both love.

I love Mason and don't think he will be called mason jar. Lennon, is NMS.

Other names I like are - Hudson, Ryder, and Chase.

I really don't like the name Mason. Every time I hear it I think "Kardashian" and that family is so trashy to me.

Anywho, Lennon is not my fav and I can see your point about Lenny.

What about Jason Reed? Very close to Mason, but you lose the "jar" association! The only thing that comes to mind close to Lennon in my head is Brennan. Brennan Reed has a nice ring to it!

I had never thought of a mason jar when hearing the name Mason.

I would also never think to shorten Lennon to Lenny, but I'm the woman who is leery of the name William because my BIL and SIL both think it's funny to call him Willy.

I'm not a fan of Mason (I'm over the -son trend), but I'm not loving Lennon either. Seems like if your DS can't pull off the association with John Lennon (eg he wants to be a Marine sniper and not a hippie writing poetry), that the name would be an awkward fit.

I like Mason better, but definitely love Reed the most (see sig)! We haven't met another Reed yet and get a lot of complements on his name. I think Mason is fairly popular. I don't think you would have to worry about popularity with Lennon.

I live in Mason County so I associate the name with that, but I do really like it.

I love the sound of Lennon and I actually like Len or Lenny as a nn, but I don't like Lennon paired with Reed as much.

I like Mason Reed of the two choices. I like both names though.

So cool that you have a Reed! Reed is a family name and I really like it so we're going to use it somewhere if this is a boy baby. The only problem with using Reed as a first name is that our last name is one syllable and I think it sounds weird. But, it's something I could get over I think.
