My right outer labia has started to, over the past month or so, swell and bulge and be really disgusting. And there is a ginormous purple vein protruding from said labia. It happens when I sit on the floor, sit on the toilet, squat, or stand for long periods of time. I Googled the symptoms and discovered it to be called cheeseburger crotch.......yum. It's pretty painful so I am going in for my scheduled appt today and going to bring it up to my OB. But does anyone else have any experience with this?
Re: Anyone else have or heard of "cheeseburger crotch"?
I've heard of it but I still don't understand the name. Vag lips will never look like a delicious, juicy cheeseburger.
Sorry you're in pain.
This. What a horrible name.
Eww, this whole thing just grossed me out
You may have vericose veins down there, def. ask your dr.
DEAD
Nice!
Quite possibly, minus the ketchup and pickles. I thought there was no such thing as TMI on this board......sorry I made some of you
! I'll bring it up at my appt. today. Of course I'm not gonna say, "So, doc, is this cheeseburger crotch or what"?
Totally agree, but really, you might have helped my McDonalds craving to be eliminated, and that isn't a bad thing LOL!
Double kudos! Did your mom say whether or not her varicose veins were uncomfortable or hurt? B/c I can't even sit up straight on the toilet. And I was sitting on the ground the other day and about came out of my skin b/c whenever I apply any pressure down there it feels like my whole vag is going to explode.......please nobody Google an image for that.
I cannot sit on the toilet straight up - I have to sit at a diagonal and hold myself up. Any time I sit on anything hard, I sit on an extra firm pillow that I got at Brookstone - I have to, or it brings tears to my eyes. I also put ice packs in my panties almost every night and that helps the swelling... and until recently, I was able to elevate my pelvis when laying down and it would re-distribute the blood flow. Now I'm too big so I can't do that at all, but I do try to put my knees and feet as high as comfortable when I'm sitting on the couch. Again - I totally know the pain you're feeling - it is really awful. Those are the things that have helped me cope. FWIW, everything I've read about them says that they will most likely go away after delivery, but can come back in subsequent pregnancies. I have only heard of one instance where someone burst one of the veins during pushing and it caused pain afterwards and really bad bruising - at this point, that's my biggest fear (bursting one of the veins). Good luck... I'm sorry!
This is the belt made specifically for those...
https://www.amazon.com/Prenatal-Cradle-V2-Supporter-166-190/dp/B000I5ZTAI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1288894135&sr=8-1
I got this one because I also have a loose SI joint, which makes my pelvis rotate 1 inch in different directions... so I wear this one with the same brand maternity support belt. The combo has helped a lot.

If you are really in pain, I would recommend a medical maternity support belt (not one from Motherhood or Target, etc, but from a medical supply store or order from Amazon) and the first belt I posted. The SI belt that I have is for something different, but my loose joint was contributing to my VV pain.
