Thirsties Duos Sz 2

I just retired the orange GMD's and started using the yellows with my Thirsties Duo sz 1. The cover is all the way unsnapped and doesn't look like it will fit DD up to the 18 lbs it proclaims. When did you move to the duos sz 2? (My DD is around 13 lbs now).

My DS will be 3 months old on the 10th, and we are still using Sz 1s. In fact, we are still on the lowest setting as well. DS was 12.5lbs at 2 months, so I am guessing he is around 13.5 or so now.

Your baby must have a really long torso.

Our duos sz 1 are on the way out, I was surprised how quickly DD outgrew them and there is no way they'll fit to 18lbs.

I didn't use Duo size 1's, but I did use Thirsties small covers. DS outgrew them at around 3 months old -- he was about 13 lbs.

Annoyingly, at that size, medium covers and Duo size 2's were still huuuuuuuge on him. He didn't grow into them until probably around 7 months of age! I had to use other covers in the interim.

Strange, as DS has a short rise, so he typically fits diapers well past the upper weight limit -- he's still in infant size prefolds right now, at 17+ lbs. But he didn't even get close to the upper weight limit in his Thirsties!

We are still in the sz 1's at almost 6 months, but our guy is little.

DS is about to outgrow his size 1s at 13.5 lbs.

I gave up on the sz 1 at around 15 lbs.  It was unsnapped all the way since I got it at around 11 lbs.

I used my size 1 up until last weekend.  E was 15.5 lbs and 5 months old.  They still fit her but I had the opportunity to sell them at a local diaper swap so I did.  I had already gotten a couple size 2 covers and they are a little big, but they work.

We had to quit using the size 1's when DD was about 5 months old (about 14 lbs) but as someone said above, she has a really long torso.  The rise on them was just too short.  The size 2's were pretty big, but doable.
