2nd Trimester

Sarah TX (allergy related)

I have awful allergies also. I take a zyrtec (sometimes 2- one in morning one middayish) and usually 2 benadryl at night. I don't feel like they help much, but I'd probably die without them.

Anyways....

You mentioned that you are having horrible itching?

I have excema and I can't even explain how much worse its been the last few weeks.

I have about 20 patches of broken skin about the size of my palm all over my body.

Anyways, I just found this stuff in walmart that is helping A LOT with itching. It's benadryl lotion stuff. . . .

Sorry for the novel, I just wanted you to know this works for someone with allergies/itchyness as bad as yours. I've been putting it all over my body day an night, and immediately if I start feeling itchy. My skin isn't clearing up much, but it is helping.  I found in walmart next to neosporin.

  • Thank you!!!!

I will get some tonight. I have a ton of patches everywhere. I usually have sensitive skin, but this is insane!

See, and I asked the nurse line if I could take 2 zyrtec and they said NO. I'm just gonna do it anyway I think. argh!!

Thanks for the advice,  that was so sweet of you!

  • Ya idk if a doc would recommend two. Lately my allergies have been giving me asthma. I figure, take a risk with 2 zyrtec, or die from asthma. haha.
  • Regarding the earlier post - the drop I mentioned (Bepreve) is prescription.  Not sure if you have a specific formulary with the military doctors/hospital?  I know what you mean on the itching.  Mine was so bad they wouldn't let me get my allergy shots anymore.  I think they were worried I'd react to them since I was hypersensitive to everything else.  I tried gold bond, calamine, benadryl, hydorcortisone, oatmeal baths you name it.  I switched detergent.  I cut out dairy, then gluten (both temporarily).  Tried everything.  The only thing that works is Topicort which is a prescription.  I feel for you!  I hope you have some luck at the dr.  Lovely TX allergies :(
