What time does your little one get up?

So DD goes to be around 7pm and wakes up at 7-7:30am.  She does not STTN yet.  She will often wake at 6 or 6:30am and when she does I have gone in to feed her and she goes right back to sleep.  However the last few days she will not take her morning nap which is usually around 9 or 9:30, I'm just wondering if she needs to be starting her day at 6ish to take her nap.

BTY she acts tried and needs that nap even if she gets up at 7:30 but sometimes will not sleep.

Re: What time does your little one get up?

  • DS goes down about 8-8:30 and gets up 7:45 - 8:30.  Sometimes he wakes at 6:30ish, but goes back down.  I don't remember exactly when he dropped his morning nap, but we've been down to one afternoon nap for a loooooong time now.  It was a bit of an adjustment, but he did just stop falling asleep for it, as I recall.  We just moved up his afternoon one, which he still takes a nice hr - 2 1/2 hour nap.

  • Noah's about that age and he goes to bed for the night around 8pm and sleeps til I go in to wake him up at 8:15ish. He takes one nap from about noon/12:30ish-3pm. I think he just loves to sleep.

It seems like she's getting the hours of sleep she needs, maybe she's about to be done with that morning nap. When Noah dropped it we would just play play play until about 11:15-11:30am and then eat an early lunch and he'd go down immediately after that. Eventually he just stretched that out a little further to after a normal lunchtime. He's pretty flexible though- yesterday he was awake until 2pm then napped til 5pm.

  • DD goes down 8:30-9ish and I wake her up at 6 to feed her.  Then she sleeps till about 10.  She doesn't nap during the day except for little 10-15 min naps.  Drives her DCP crazy, but I don't mind it.
  • I'm just answering for S since L isn't really applicable here. lol

During the week I wake her at 6:30am to get ready because we leave the house at 7am.  On the weekends she'll sleep until 8am or so.  At your DD's age she was waking up on her own sometime around 6am.

  • Any of you want to trade?  My DS usually is up between 5 and 5:30am.  He dropped his second nap at 14-15 months I think and we knew he was ready when he started fighting the afternoon nap and waking up insanely early (3:30am at one point).  Like others have said it was a bit of a rough transition, but after 2-3 weeks everything was great and he takes a fantastic 1.5-2.5 hour nap at 1pm each day now.

  • N goes to bed around 8, wakes up anywhere between 5 and 6:30.  6:30 is like a miracle, it happens maybe once every 3 weeks.  Usually it's closer to 5.  last week, he was waking up at 4:30 :-(

I love you, but no.  :)  I'd go insane.  I'll do a few mornings of respite care for you, though! :)

DS is cutting molars so we were up even earlier than normal last week too.

Papa, I propose a bit get together where you watch Will and N so Joes and I can sleep.  We'll buy you lots of coffee when we finally wake up.

  • DS goes to bed around 7-8. He is up for the day between 6-7. DS went from sleeping more at night and taking 2 naps per day to sleeping less at night and taking 3 naps per day. It has worked better for him to take more naps.
  • Before I went back to work, he usually went to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 pm and woke up around 6:30/7:00 am. Now, on days I work, I wake him up at about 6:15 (lately, a couple weeks ago he woke on his own around 5:45 when I woke up).
  • DD goes to bed anywhere between 9 & 11pm.  She'll wake between 7-8:45am.

Afternoon naps happen about 1/2 the week.  She needs one every day, but sometimes she doesn't fall asleep.

  • DS goes down between 7 and 8 and wakes up between 6 and 7.  He started transitioning to one nap about 2 months ago.  I was devastated when that started since I was still in the 1st tri and EXHAUSTED!  I was relying on his naps to get some rest myself!  He's pretty much down to 1 nap for about an hour and a half.  Once in a blue moon he'll take 2 naps, but that's becoming a rarity.
