Help... never ending yeast

DS has had raised white bumps on and off for going on 3 weeks now.  We are using prescription Nystatin, and each time I washed all his CDs and wipes in bleach.

The prescription works in about 5-6 days and the bumps disappear, only to reappear in a day or two.  Continuing to rewash his diapers in bleach is a trial since I have to rewash them 5-6 times to remove the bleach smell.   I'm at my wits' end.  Help me keep CDing!

I'm going to try to help, even though I'm no expert. This is what I did:

Put 1/4 cup bleach (sodium hypochlorite)  in the bleach dispenser of your washer and wash on cold/cold. then do several hot rinses. You can also get Grapefruit seed extract (not grape seed extract) and add about 50 drops to one or two of the rinses. dry on hot. Make sure you wash everything - diapers, cloth wipes, pail liners, wet bags, anything that LO's butt or diapers touched. Keep LO in disposbles until rash is 100% gone, or you'll just re-infect.  Also, half hour of nekkid time twice a day. Good luck!

We've had lots of yeast too, and Grapefruit Seed Extract unfortunately did nothing for us.  We had to use about 1/4 cup of diluted bleach in a hot wash and then wash a billion times to get the bleach smell out.  After lots of time in disposables with yeast cream we could put him back in cloth.  Good luck!

Are you continuing to use the cream even after the bumps are gone?  I think you're supposed to continue treatment even if the symptoms are gone, why not put LO in disposables while he's being treated and bleach the cloth, wait until treatment is over plus a couple of days and try again.

Thanks all, it sounds like exactly what we are already doing.  I'm not sure what else to do besides give up cloth entirely if this keep happening.  I think I'll try a full 2 weeks in sposies, but it really seems like the bleach isn't killing the yeast in the CDs.
