Lo one usually sleeps in a gown and a swaddle me but she has been getting her hand stuck trying to get out of it and seems pissed. So I tried to put her in a sleepy sack couple of problems her hands are freezing and she gets on her side but has been waking a lot making noises like she is stuck and wants to get on her tummy but she does not like being on her tummy. The last few nights she has been up a lot and I am tired and confused with what to do. Also she moves her arms so much I feel like swaddling is better for her but I think she is growing out of it. She is also a bad napper so I need better nights. What would you do? Before this week I got a few nights of 6 to eight hours straight out of her. Now this I end up nursing her to calm her down and get her back to sleep. Thx
Re: I need sleep advice, pls
oh hun, i feel your pain! i loved the swaddle... even though my LO would bust out of it, it helped her go to sleep because it kept her arms contained. without it, they fly everywhere.
when we stopped using the swaddle, it was rough at first. i would rock her with a pacifier in her mouth and put her down on her side. i'd hold her arms until she was relaxed and they weren't moving around. sometimes this was quick and simple... othertimes i'd have to spend 20-30 minutes holding her arms, patting her butt, and doing whatever i could to get her to fall asleep without being swaddled.
over time, she began to flip onto her belly. at first she'd hate it and it would wake her up, but eventually she started getting used to it. pacifiers helped a lot. and time.
hang in there hun.

It had worked wonders for Andrew with transitioning from the swaddle. He still has that startle reflex and the sleepsuit muffles that. Naps are a different story.. he is a cat napper unfortunately.
