What to buy a 5yr old boy for Christmas?
So far all I can think of is
Leap Frog Ex or Nintendo DS (havent made up our minds yet)
1 game for whatever game system he gets
Carrying case for game system
Imaginex Air Craft carrier play set
Toy Story 3 Lego playset
McQueen shake n Go car that comes with Mac the truck
I then draw a blank. He says he wants some Zhu Zhu pets, the boy ones, but my mom is buying them for him. The girls are so much easier and Im almost done buying their gifts.
Im getting this done early this year and as soon as everything is bought Im wrapping and hiding it all. That way "Santa" isnt up until the crack of dawn wrapping presents for 3 kids this year! I really cant wait until we can wrap a few and leave under the tree for decoration and trust the kids not to unwrap them. I guess I could just wrap empty boxes. They could help so they know they are empty. Maybe then they would leave them alone.

DS was four in May
He is getting a big boy scooter, misc playmobil, legos (he wants the fire boat and some big semi), bakugans, the imaginex serpent pirate ship and the space shutter and station, a skeleton model and human body book, the whale/shark skeleton book, a whale casting and paint set, I spy game, Melissa and Doug play food, playdoh stuff, arts and crafts stuff like the melissa and doug stamp sets, there are a couple other little things he's getting also that I can't think of at the moment...
He also wants a new down comforter, a towel set with dinosaurs or something like that, some bathroom set from target with whales or something..., and a rolly back-pack (which he prob won't get)
I like the empty box thing...
I always hate how bare our tree looks from the time we put it up until Cmas morning. I like presents under the tree for decoration and am jealous of people who can actually have their presents (not empty boxes) under there. Of course I do understand I have 4&5yr olds and that it too much of a temptation. Lord I think we all remember my drama from last year. Im working on my uptightness (is that even a word?) and OCD to details/everything being perfect. This years Halloween was MUCH better because of that.
I dont know what has gotten into me. Usually I dont Cmas shop until after Thanksgiving. I just want it done so I dont have to stress over it. I can actually sit and enjoy the season and not worry about shopping in the huge crowds. Toys R Us was great this morning! Hardly anyone there and no lines.
I want to be able to spend the time with the kids this year baking, making cards, watching the classic movies, etc than last minute shopping. I want to decorate early too.
I feel your pain...DS would not stop playing with the gifts I did put under the tree last year...even though most of them were not addressed to him...he ripped several of them...I think I will try again though with an empty box (thank you very much) and see if he messes with it...if he doesn't then I will put the rest out...
