So someone posted a "when's your baby shower" thread the other day, in which I commented that nobody had mentioned throwing one to me yet, and therefore I felt awkward even bringing it up lest I seem greedy (even to my mom).  Well I mentioned it to my hubby and he basically said "just wait a bit, it's still early, I'm sure someone will love to throw you one" so I decided to sit tight.

Well, today my mom brought it up (yes I know family isn't supposed to throw me one, but the reality is I would never expect any of my friends to spring for that expensive of an event), and a few hours later I hung out with 1 of my close friends and mentioned the potential date to her, at which point she was all over helping to plan it and said "I have to call your mom"... and then my hubby gets home and says his mom wants to go in half-sies with my mom, so in a few hours, I went from having zero shower-throwers to three.

So it'll probably be Feb 5th or 6th... does anyone think that's cutting it too close to the 3/24 due date??  The logic is to avoid sending invites and collecting RSVPs during the holiday season, and this way invites would go out between 12/30 and 1/3, after the bulk of the holiday mail is out of the way.

Anyway... I'm feeling loved now :-)

Yay for showers.  I'm due 3/24 too and we're probably looking at 2/26 for mine so you are right on track with that date.  Mine is running a bit later than usual of course but its the best date for everyone.

Make me number 3 due on 3/24, and from my understanding Feb 5/6th is when my shower is supposed to be.  It's either that or POSSIBLY the weekend before, but i think 5th or 6th is going to work out better.

So fun! I think that's a great date to do the shower...plenty of time ahead of the due date!!Oh and BTW, etiquette may say family members shouldn't throw showers but that is CLEARLY not the case with the general public! I have family throwing the showers too! SO FUN!
