Pullups/training pants

DD is currently potty training; she'll go pee on the potty almost every time I ask her to, but she doesn't tell me when she has to go so I have to just keep asking her to go. She also does not poop on the potty yet, but does tell me when she poops in her pants.  I've been using Huggies Pullups because that's what her day care prefers but I've been noticing her scratching her behind lately, I'm guessing the pullups are making her itch. I felt them and they are not too soft inside.  I'm wondering if there is any other brand softer than Huggies that have the easy pull away sides.  TIA

Would the day care be open to using cloth?  Cloth trainers are soft, plus if they are made out of absorbent fabric (as opposed to wicking), she will feel wet.
