Re: who does glutton free

  • I think you mean Gluten free, although glutton free would be a good diet Wink

DH and I have stopped eating grains and have both lost weight and feel awesome. I highly recommend giving it a try. It doesn't have to be difficult, just focus on eating whole foods so you know exactly what is going into your body-vegetables, fruits, meats, etc.

ETA: We've also been experimenting by baking with Almond and Coconut flour, google recipes there are some good options out there.

  • I have a gluten intolerance, so I was forced into the diet.  It is a difficult lifestyle change, but I feel so much better.

Avoid all wheat, barley, and rye products.  That includes some less obvious things like MSG, carmel coloring, malt anything, modified food starch (modified corn starch is fine).  I'm probably forgetting some.

    Celiac.com is a great resource!

  • Whole foods offers a selection of gluten free foods. You can download a list of all the products they have off their website and start there.

Pasta, Breads (ps - some of the breads are super heavy Indifferent).

If you happen to eat at PF changs, they have a gluten free menu as well. (nom nom nom)

  • I have started incorporating gluten free foods into my diet...I also made gluten-free protein bar from scratch (SO GOOD) I love them.

I just try to pay attention to how much gluten I am consuming I don't have an allergy or anything but I do believe that their are plenty of health qualities to minimizing your gluten in take.

  • There was a lady who commented on my Faces of Loss submission (click on "Luke's story" in my siggy.

She pretty much said that the reason for my IF was due to eating glutten. I gave her the serious side eye (love being dxed by internet strangers who have never even glanced at my medical chart)...but I'm wondering if it's something I could be tested for. I imagine this conversation going down at my dr's office:

Me: "I'd like to be tested for Celiac Disease"

Dr: "What symptoms do you have?"

Me: "I read online about the normal symptoms and don't have any of them. Except an internet stranger said that's the reason I have a hard time getting pregnant."

Dr: ::side-eye:: "You're an idiot. Goodbye."
