I was talking to a friend this morning to tell her we're leaning towards Eve. She asked for middle names, and I mentioned Angelina, since it's a family name that covers all two Annas, an Anne, and Angela, and an Angelina.
She said "Ummmm, that makes your kid Evangelina."
Way to make ourselves sound like our child was conceived on a mission trip. That's just not us, while religious undertones may work for others. I know a lot of people use Evangeline (and I think it's pretty!) but all I can hear in Eve Angelina is "Evangelist" now! Not good.
Back to the drawing board! Last name is two syllables.
Eve Charlotte for DS Charles (plus I love Charlotte)
Eve Elizabeth (my mn) gets the initials EEH, but a nice eHe monogram.
Eve Shannon or
Eve McKenna use family surnames
Eve Marie pulls in both grandmas
Eve Isabella because DH adores Isabella and wanted to use it
Anything jump out at anyone?
Re: Why I should run names past people, plus MN help
This.
The two middles is definitely a possibility. I tend to prefer one, but I hadn't thought of that and it could be a good way to work things together. Outside the box is always a good idea, so thanks!
And I agree on sharing IRL....my mom won't know until we're official because she hates everything. She freaked out over Charlie and asked me to please not use Emily (which I wasn't considering) because she hates it. WTF? Who hates Emily? Also, shut up, Mom! But this friend is the one who made me more confident about Eve so she's still in the loop
Maybe you could also do Eve Anna?
This.
Good to know! And thanks for all the votes so far! It really is helping. Marie, Charlotte, Elizabeth, and Isabella are pulling far ahead. DH likes Marie (MIL is Annemarie, my mom's mn is Marie) but it is such a common mn that I'm a little hesitant, I think. Without family ties, it would feel dangerously like filler.

No, I haven't. Is Eve in the Bible? That could be a problem for me.

I'm not normally a fan of double middle names, but I really like the way Eve Charlotte-Marie flows. And at least a hyphen would keep it as one name, to save paper work confusion.
And what's so gosh-awful about having a possible religious undertone to a name? As long as it's not a bad person, (aka, Judas, Jezibel) I don't see why it would be such a hang up.
