Babies: 9 - 12 Months

wdyt about a portable dvd player?

so I was wondering if we should ask for a portable dvd player for LO's first bday.. I see some that can be attached to the head rest of your car and then taken down to go inside with you.. My only fear is that my LO already tends to watch a lot of tv (obsessed w.yo gabba gabba and special agent oso) and will I just be turning my kid into a tv junkie?

  • If you are planning a long road trip fine. For day to day stuff - why?

Who are you going to ask? Another question might be how appropriate it is to ask for a specific high end gift?

  • Thats what my parents bought DS for his birthday. Its awesome. He loves watching his cartoons in the back. Very handy

We have two trips coming up that are about 8 hours round trip so it will come in super handy. But its also nice for day to day if he's fussy in the car

my mom wanted to get something nice and useful because he has a lot of toys already, i would be using it for fussy days in the car or if we do go on a long road trip :)

  • We took one on our 20+ hour car trip to Colorado when DS was only 4 months old, and even then it was a lifesaver.

  • I would say only if you take a lot of long road trips. We made an 18 hr trip this summer and the portable DVD player we borrowed from a friend was the greatest thing ever to keep DS entertained.
