Is your LO pulling up and standing yet? If so come in...

My DS just started getting really good at pulling himself up and standing. He does this on EVERYTHING.

We lowered his crib yesterday to keep him nice and safe.

I was wondering if you other mommas, who may have LOs doing the same thing, have noticed that Ds/Dd won't take very good naps anymore? My son will stand and cry and cry and scream some more. I think this is because he is learning so much and he doesn't want to miss out on anything. Standing included. He's tired and needs to sleep but is just stubborn to the core about standing at his crib bars and crying. I don't leave him for too long like that but he does need to nap.

Is this just a stage or is this the new normal?

  • A stage. After the newness of the learning to stand/pull up/cruise around wore off, she only stands and cries/yells out ocassionally now. It'll pass!

this! we went through about a week or so of the standing and not really napping, but she is over it now!

  • Stage, he will eventually get over it and realize it's time for naps. Tal was like this for 2 weeks.

  • I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one dealing with this right now. DD recently started pulling herself up and standing on EVERYTHING. She use to go down for her naps easily, without a fight, but now as soon as I lay her down, she pulls herself up and cries until I go back in and lay her back down (sometimes we have to do this 10+ times!)  Glad to hear its just a phase!

  • Do you let your LO's cry it out? If so, how long do you wait? He REALLY needs a nap but my gosh, he's been crying for the past 30 mins. When is enough enough? I can get him up but he will just be a total crabby patty until he naps.

  • At first my son wouldn't sleep because he'd pull himself up but not know how to get back down. And because he constantly wanted to practice pulling himself up. I'm sure your LO will grow out of it and get back to his napping. After all now that they are pulling themselves up all the time, they must be tired! I know I am constantly watching him so he doesn't fall when he forgets to hold on!
  • E is doing this and it bugs me. He wont sleep so I rock him to sleep but it also has to do with him teething... I want my put baby in the crib and goes to sleep baby back! :tear:
