Postpartum Depression

Looks like Round 2.

Hi, I have never posted here before.

I had PPD after my 1st daughter was born. It came late, I think she was around 10months old. We had moved her from our bedroom to her own bedroom. I would have panic attacks at night, check on her every chance I got, which would wake her up. And the process would start all over again. I happened to have a regular OB appointment and was prescribed zoloft. I stayed on for about 6 months, before I decided to wean myself off.

My 2nd daughter is 3 months old, and I am pretty sure it's stuck me again. I have no motivation to do anything, my house is a disaster, I hate looking at it and I hate being here, but I have no motivation to clean it. My husband and I are always arguing, mostly over my lack of sex drive. I am angry all the time. Everything makes me angry, everyone makes me angry. My husband and I have been married for almost 4 years. He told me one night last week that he wasn't happy, I was emotionless. I love my family, both of my girls, and my husband.

I don't see my OB until January. My question is do I call her, since she knows of my history. Or should I call my regular family doctor?

  • Call you OB NOWWWWW!   You need to be back on your meds asap and your OB knows your history and what worked for you last time!

  • Thanks,

I called my OB first thing this morning. Since it has been over 3 months I have to call my primary care physician.

I called her, I have an appointment next Wednesday.

  • I'm sorry that you have to wait.  This is something that really makes me upset.  My OB and GP did the same thing to me - no you take her, no you take her no you take her.  I was crying on the phone and no one would help me.  I'm glad someone is going to help you!  I'm just sorry that you have to wait more than a week.  Don't these people realize that PPD can hit more than 3 months!
