Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Please recommend some toys for my almost 9 month old!

There are sooooo many toys available that I was wondering if anyone had recommendations.  What does your LO love?  Thanks!

  • My LO Drew when he was 9 months old, loved the Leap Frog musical table. Its a table that has all kinds of buttons and pulls on it, lights up and sings songs, makes music and sings ABC's in Spanish and in English.

He liked (still does) anything that lights up and makes noise or music.

  • DS loves the Fisher-Price Stride-to-Ride Lion.  He pushes it around the house like a walker or pushes it while walking on his knees.  Also the Playskool Busy Ball Popper is fun.
  • The Leap Frog table was a big hit at our house too. I also love the Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Kitchen (it has a shape sorter and some really cute songs)... DD still plays with both of those. I think it was right around 9 months that she really started to love books too.

  • When Ri was 8 months old, we got her the V-Tech stand up walker, the one with the farm on it, and even though she's been walking great on her own since she was 9 months, she still loves to push this around and play with it.

  • DS has mostly quit playing with toys.  He loves tupperware, water bottles, banging spoons together ect.

This.   DS loved/loves to pay with plastic bowls, measuring cups, etc.  He still doesn't like metal pots/bowls on tile floors because the banging sound is too loud and freaks him out.

  • Another vote for the Leap Frog table. We're buying one of those for Eli for his birthday. He plays with it all the time at church. Even our toddler (2 years, 8 months) loves that thing. I'd also look into some board books. Eli is really getting into those now. He loves to turn the pages.

  • We go thru a ton of toys - I try to rotate each week so old toys become "new" again.  He seems to find new ways to play with things.  Current favorites are balls of all size and shape - he loves to play catch and just started kicking them around the room too.  He uses a big beach ball like a walker.  He also loves containers that he can empty and fill.  I'll pull out a big plastic bowl and fill it with misc. stuff and he'll go to town.  Still loves bubbles too.
