my BIL has been engaged to a woman who just got divorced yesterday (they have been engaged for 5 months). she has a daughter, whos second birthday party we attended. there was no invitation, other than a FB event. then, there was no thank you notes, i got a mass FB comment saying "thank you for coming. Isabella loves the gift". not even a personalized FB comment! i have spent the past two weeks actually hand making invitations because i think its important, and already have the thank you cards in mind. i dont get how people think that is polite. i spent the two hours to go to your party, got you a gift, and then got nothing to show any appreciation! ugh. vent over.

    I completely agree- a handwritten thank you note is a must!  Hand crafted invites are nice, but not a necessity.  How tacky to post a generic FB thank you.

    exactly! i think at the very least, go to walmart and get thank you cards. geez.
