I went shopping for some jeans today and tried on two different pair at Old Navy. One pair were on clearance for $13 and the others were full price at $29.99. I decided I liked the full price pair better, so I peeled off the clearance sticker from the one pair and put it all the full price pair. The lady didn't even bat an eye at it and I got them at the sale price! I've never done anything like this before and I fell pretty guilty about it. We'll see what karma has in store for me
Re: My FFFC...I kinda feel bad
::bows head in shame:: Just don't tell my mom ok?
::GASP!::
I'm in awe of you! That takes some sneaky kahones!
This.
Well why did I just do this!? I'd feel a lot less stupid right now
This is probably going to make me look dumber than I already do, but I honestly didn't see it as stealing at the time. I've talked to DH about and and you ladies have given me a good side-eye and see now why it was so wrong. I've really never done this kind of thing before and have always wondered why in the world someone would shop-lift. Its such a petty crime. Good grief. I wonder what the heck got into me? Well, I'm gonna put it in the live and learn column and vow to change my evil ways! I'm actually really glad I posted this. Thanks for the e-slap guys. I needed it!
Sometimes the devil on our shoulder gets the best of us. Good thing your angel is back at her post.
That was lame/corny wasn't it?
Haha! It made me laugh, so it was great. But seriously, the devil definitely won this round.
OP, an idea- can you return the 'clearance' ones and buy them again at the right price?

I'm doing this tomorrow. I just don't know how to go about it without obviously re-buying the same pair of jeans. Any suggestions?
First of all, glad you were able to find some jeans at Old Navy. (I responded to your post last night when you were looking for a place for cheap "mom" jeans.)
I won't berate you for more or less stealing from Old Navy because I know you regret it now. As far as returning them, I would just take them to one counter and return them and say you want to shop around and find some different ones. Then go and find the same pair, take it to a different register, and pay full price this time. Problem solved!
Oooh good ideas! Jeeze louise....
<----------- Idiot
lmao
Yeah I would say OP that what is done is NOT done. You actually could go back and fix it if you feel that bad about it.
Yeah, I'm fully planning on doing that tomorrow. This is sooo not worth the $15-ish I "saved" on the jeans!
If we were talking about a locally owned boutique and you did the same thing, I would encourage you to take them back fo sho.
This is sad and pathetic
since you realize what you did was wrong, I'm not going to flame.
I'm glad you are going to go and make things right.
If you do take them back they're just going to put the jeans out again with the clearance tag. It might help your conscience but it won't help the store. I don't really see an easy way to undo this. You could potentially take the clearance tag off and go back to ON and explain that you were undercharged. Though they might just tell you that since the error was in your favor that it's fine to keep them at the price you paid.
I also consider this shoplifting but it was only $15 and you genuinely feel bad for doing it. As long as you never do it again I consider this a live and learn deal.
definitely wrong!
I hope you take them back and make it right.
Yes stealing is wrong but everyone gives into those "not so nice" urges every once and a while. If you don't want to return them you could always donate the difference in money to charity. That's what I did a few months ago. My husband found thirty dollars on the floor of a store. I wanted him to turn it into to the clerks behind the counter but he refused. So, the next day I donated $30 dollars to my favorite charity.
So, you make a positive out of a negitive and the universe is balanced again.
