When customers are b!tches about "just looking" I hover over them and make them as uncomfortable as I can until they leave.
To clarify, "just looking" is a natural response. The response itself is not what bothers me, it's way people treat me while they're saying it. If they come in, smile or at least look at me when I say Hi, then I leave them be. If they think ignoring me and being rude is the way to get rid of me, they can think again. Mofos.
Re: My FFFC
I think I'm guilty of this... esp when I was in Motherhood!
You don't hate me do you?!
Ugggghhhh... I HATE when DH says "Just Looking!" Drives me nuts!
Me too. I at least try to be nice?
You work at a jewelry store, right? You'd love me!!
I am on a first name basis with the store mgr - coincidentally another Jason. We've been to his son's bday party (he's 2). And, he calls to check in on us every once in awhile.
He loves that I can talk DH into buying me just about anything from his store - including my solitaire upgrade 2 years ago (we've only been married 3 years). And, I've been working with him to get DH the all black Movado wristwatch for Christmas - but on the downlow!!
I go in and shoo the workers away and then make sure to get my finger prints and breath all over the cases too.
I hated rude customers too when I was working retail, I can't imagine dealing with people while pregnant.
Ugh, I worked retail all through the end of high school, college and law school and the WORST was when they came in 5 minutes before closing, said they were "just looking" and proceeded to mess up my nice neat racks and tables of clothes! I would usually follow right behind them and loudly clean up after them until they got the hint, lol.
Seriously, you know darn well that the mall closes at 9:30...don't come in at 9:25 and expect to go on a shopping spree, lol.
See, I think its annoying when sales people hover. If I want something, I'll ask. Leave me alone!
I always say "just looking." what else am I supposed to say? I'm just looking. If I decide I want to buy something, I will. I also don't usually engage the sales people unless they engage me...out of fear that if I do, it will invite them to follow me around and ask me a million questions. Now if they talk to me, I do smile back.
My fav is when you walk in and the person says "Welcome to X. Today we have a sale on Y. My name is Sue. Let me know if you need anything."
Done and done.
I might be the odd one out on that though. I'm much less likely to buy if someone is pestering me. I don't want to have to fill out a survey in order to shop (ex: "Is it a special occasion?")
