Since it is almost Halloween, Ghost Stories

Post them there.

Me?  I got not nothing unless you count the dime I just found on the floor I just cleaned.

Re: Since it is almost Halloween, Ghost Stories

  • There are times when I'm alone in my house and I get the ghost creeps.  I don't really believe in ghosts. But once it's in my head that a ghost may have opened a door or moved an object, I cannot get it out of my head.  Once it's in my head, I can't look in the mirror because I fear there will be something standing behind me.  Just typing this out gave me the creeps.

  • I posted 'my' ghost story and picture last year.  (It didn't happen to me, thank gawd, but to a friend).  Unfortunately, that person is no longer on FB, so I can't steal their picture to post again.
  • Nothing creepy but we had one in the house for a while after we moved in. ?Doors would slam even though they were all shut, etc. ?I looked up once and saw a vaguely translucent all black (all I saw were clothes) figure walk out of my bathroom a few steps, stop suddenly & whip back around & go back in. ?I saw the feet & bottom of the dress? ?Riding coat tails? but not much else 'cause I was afraid to look up. ?

Our house was built in 1885.

I talked to the house a few times after that & told it that we were cool with whatever was here, we were happy to coexist and that we were going to fix up and renovate the house & not destroy it. ?It left a few months after that, or is hiding well, 'cause it really feels like it's just gone now.

Agreed--only I don't have to be alone.  And there's no reason to believe our house would have any paranormal activity--it's only 2 years old.  However, about a month ago, DD2 started crying a while after she went to bed--EXTREMELY out of character for her.  I went up, rocked her for a few minutes and put her back in her crib.  She instantly stood up and cried again...this went on for a good 20 minutes.

I sort of mumbled under my breath--DD couldn't really hear or understand me, "you are not welcome here, you are scaring my daughter--please leave."  And honestly, shortly after that she was fine with me leaving her room.

I've done the same in my room--the master closet gives me the creeps sometimes for some reason.  I'm sure it is easy to dismiss as all "in my head" but the feeling almost always goes away after I say it out loud.

Thank you to the guys on Ghost Hunters for that wonderful advice, by the way.  Stick out tongue  (telling whatever it is that it/they are not welcome there)

  • I've posted that we lived with a ghost in the past.

When we were in FL for my brother's wedding, I was looking at pictures on my dad's laptop that someone had taken with his camera. There's a picture of the family (with my new SIL), and an orb up over us. Her father died when she was 10. It may not really be an orb, but it was awesome to her when I was able to show her. She felt him there that day, so did her mom, and several friends and family. That's not a creepy ghost story, but neat.
