Do you feed LO meat?

I am a little hesitant to do the whole pureed meat thing. Do you feed this to your LO or are you waiting until they can eat "real" meat?

Re: Do you feed LO meat?

  • We've tried pureed meats but LO hates them! We feed him little pieces of chicken when we have it. I've been trying to incorporate more meat into his diet since the pureed meats have been a fail.

  • No.  I'm jut going to skip the pureed meat and go straight to regular meats when he's 7-8 months old.  (or later, if he's not ready)

  • Until he is old enough to decide he wants to be a carnivore, meat will not touch my LO's lips.

  • I've never fed her pureed meat and I'm not sure when I'll give her the real deal. I prefer to give her beans and what not.
  • We have given DS chicken. He's also tried meat purees (chicken and turkey only). SO and I don't eat red meat or fish so we have no intention of feeding it to DS at the moment. Once he's older he can try it all if he'd like. He doesn't love purees. He'd prefer the real thing, but I'm so afraid. He's starting to do really well with whole food. We'll give it a try again soon.

Funny, I was just going to tell her that I was coming over and giving that beebee some bacon!

  • I gave Michael some pureed chicken and he did okay with it... but his poop the next day actually made me hard core gag. Something I haven't done in a good while!

  • I made a large batch of roasted chicken, made it into a puree and add a spoonful to his veggies for lunch and dinner. He seems to like it.

  • I feed DS meat. Sometimes I puree it with a fruit (like turkey and cranberries). Other times I give it to him in crumbles or sticks. I just made broccoli chicken strips for him. They're pretty messy. He can hold onto the base of the stick and chew little bites off the end. The stick will kind of crumble as he eats it. I got the recipe from wholesomebabyfoods.
