Any fertility patients?

I'm sure someone here has had a baby/babies thanks to the beautiful field of IVF.  That's our path.  I have seen one, very well known, fertility specialist and was just referred to another, not as well known.  So my question, who was your fertility specialist?  What were the pros/cons of that specialist?

Thank you!!!

HRC in Laguna Hills - Dr. Jane Frederick.  Although they are a busy clinic, the staff is amazing and got us through some trying times.  Janet, Dr. F's nurse is wonderful.  I also did acupuncture in conjunction with our one IVF cycle and truly believe that was what tipped the scale in our favor.  Dr. Daniel Lee in Irvine is one truly remarkable man.  His success rates are astounding and he not only changed my cycle within one short month, he also made the transfer process completely pain free (something I had with our three previous IUI cycles).  Seriously, I never felt the catheter go in and was shocked when Dr. F said we were ready for the transfer.

     Good luck!

Despite the issues in the past UCI still has a very respected program. Last year they had the #9 gynocology program in the country. I'm not sure what they are currently ranked. GL. I don't have any experience w/ IVF,but used UCI for our genetic counseling and was very pleased with our experience.

I've been seeing Dr. Wong at Hope IVF in Irvine.  I wouldn't say he's a warm and fuzzy guy, and I couldn't find much in the way of information on him before my first appointment.  Since he was who my insurance said they would cover, I figured I didn't have much to loose by just checking him out.

With me, he set up a preliminary plan, then altered it when I didn't respond well to the first dosing of Clomid.  After the second round, I'm now pregnant. :) (Which came as a total shock to both me and him, given that my chances were super slim.)  I'd say my overall feeling regarding his plans are conservative but aggressive (ie- more monitoring appointments than many others may have had).

He gives handouts each time I'm there based upon my current stage of treatment, answers questions completely and his staff is prompt about returning phone calls.

When we are ready, I wouldn't hesitate to return to his care if necessary. It's a small office with personal care from the staff, which works well for me.

    TTC #1 5/97 - PCOS dx 6/10 - Metformin 8/10 - Moved from Endo to RE 9/10 - 50mg Clomid 9/10 - 100mg Clomid 10/18 - BFP - Beta #1 = 91 - Beta #2 = 958 EDD 6/28/11 Tater Tot arrived 6/21/11 on his Great Grandmother's 90th Birthday

I had gone to Dr Frederick at Huntington Reproductive in LH but had a very bad experience.

Oh and I forgot to say...Good luck! Wishing you and your hubby lots of baby dust! It has been a long road for us to become parents and the first round of IVF did not work. But looking back I can honestly say that all of the hard IVF work was worth it!

We used Dr. Werlin at Coastal Fertility.  He is awesome!  He gives warm, compassionate care. He even calls you personally to keep you updated on your bloodwork, etc.  He is very positive during what can be a difficult journey.

we worked with Dr Terence Lee at Fertility Care of Orange County in Brea. https://www.fcare.com/  He is AMAZING! Very caring and genuine doctor with an incredible bedside manner. He genuinely wants his patients to succeed and keep you very involved in the process, allowing you to have the all the information you need and make each decision along the way. He is great at answering any questions and makes the information very easy to understand.

His practice is much smaller so you feel like you are the staff's top priority every time you walk in. Everyone there knows your face and some nurses even know my voice on the phone. I never waited more than a minute or two for any appoinment. Also, because the office is small you can schedule your cycle when it makes sense for you instead of syncing with other patients. Your treatment is VERY individualized.

Once I got pregnant, the great care continued and we stayed with Dr Lee until 12 weeks and had detailed ultrasounds once a week. At your last appointment they do a longer ultrasound and make a dvd of it for you take home.

Honestly, I can't say enough great things about this doctor or his practice. We will definitely be working with Dr Lee again  when we are ready to have another baby.

My success with IVF, ICSI with AH was with Dr. Jane Frederick at HRC in Laguna Hills.  I had 2 cycles with her and although my first cycle was unsuccessful she never let me give up hope.  I got pregnant on my second cycle with a SET and I am 41!  If it wasn't for her and the staff at HRC, I am sure that my dream of having my little girl would not be happening.  Good luck!
