Not me, sadly enough. I'm at work for the night (oddly enough I love working Friday nights.)
But how far out in the sticks do you live? 30 minutes from anyplace that sells alcohol? You don't even have a grocery store with booze or anything like that closer...?
Cleo, it's a dry county. I'm about 15 minutes from the grocery store, and probably 10 from a gas station, but a good 30 minutes from the county that sells alcohol. I could maybe make it in 25 if I didn't hit any lights.
In KY it is! In our county, they do give a certain number of alcohol licenses to restaurants, but we can't buy any liquor at the store. I'd think it would promote drunk driving, but I guess they don't care.
Here's what I just found:
Of the 120 counties of Kentucky, 55 are completely dry and 30 are
wet [1]. The remaining 35 counties are ?moist, fall somewhere
between.
Certain counties allow the sale of alcoholic beverages by the
drink on golf courses located in dry counties.
Some wineries are allowed to operate within dry counties.
16 cities within dry counties have voted to allow restaurants
above a specified size to serve drinks.
16 other cities are wet cities located in dry counties.
I guess my county is not completely dry, by this definition. Either way, I have to drive a long way to buy a 6 pack of beer or a bottle of wine! I stock up when I'm in Lexington
I live in the land of Puritans and once lived in a dry town. Thankfully we were very close to the town line where a package store conveniently was located!
but, to answer your question...yes, the box o' wine is tapped and flowing...

Oh, it's hilarious. There are several liquor stores located RIGHT on the county line to the "wet" county. I just don't get it. You'd think the tax money would be an incentive for smaller counties to sell alcohol. It's actually an issue that is voted upon by the citizens of the county, so until it makes it to a ballot, it won't happen. A few have gone "wet" around here in the past few years.
I've never had moonshine, and FOR YOUR INFORMATION, I'm drinking um (hold on, I have to look) smirnoff. In a shot glass. I'm classier than moonshine from a jug! Jeez. Personally, I buy better than smirnoff, but that's what I get for sending the husband into liquor barn.

Do you drink moonshine?
It sounds stereotypical but literally the one time I went camping in KY we drank moonshine. I thought it was rather delicious.
This is how I am picturing you right now:
DH just brought home a Harpoon Octoberfest keg (what a guy), so I'll be tap'n both of that shortly. Cheers!
