I loved ours too!  I stopped using it when DS could eat the stuff on his own but before then it was a life saver many a meal!

what is the best way to clean these? I put frozen fruit chunks in this for DD but even with scolding hot water it seems to still have pieces on it..

Use a toothbrush or something similar, works great!  If you do it right away it is much easier, rather than waiting until the food is stuck in the mesh.

yea, I clean it right away. I don't really have issues, but it depends on the fruit. I have a lot of extra meshes, so if it's bad i just throw it out.

How long did it take your lo to realize to chew on it...lo just bangs it around on her chair.

I love it too! The only thing I have ever put in it was ice though so it's easy to clean. DS loves it when he is teething.
