when will you move?

LO to a toddler bed? Im thinking Ill make the switch a couple of months before LO#2 gets here.  2nd time moms help me out, how long does the transition usually take?

It really depends on the child. BUT, most toddler beds are intended for 15+ months. Which definitely rules us out. Gonna be rocking two cribs at once!

I was under the impression that most people don't move LO into a toddler bed until around two years. Our plan is to get two cribs.

It depends on the kid. I had him in a toddler bed at 15 months and in a twin bed at 22 months. He actually slept better with the side off of the crib (converted into a toddler bed). I think he didn't like feeling trapped but as soon as he knew he could get out of bed if he needed/wanted he relaxed and went to sleep right away. With the side on, he would work himself up until he choked. Yeah, that was fun.

I haven't pegged Lily's personality yet to determine whether or not we'll move her that early.

I was planning on changing DD over when she is 2 so we will be rocking the 2 cribs for a little while. We plan on buying a new crib for DD that will turn into a toddler bed then a full size bed. Right now DD sleeps in my old crib and that will be for the baby when it gets here.
