At first, I thought this idea was all crazy talk, but my DS will not eat my purees. I have been trying to get him to eat off a spoon for a month now. He will not open his mouth for the spoon. I have tried everything I can think of and used all of your suggestions when I posted a question about it. I do not want to force feed him, but he is nearly 7 months at this point. He should be eating solids. Since he puts EVERYTHING in his mouth right now, I thought I might try this BLW. Is there a specific website or book which would explain the principles of it a little better?

I was able to find it at B&N. It's a pretty good read, I'm excited to try it!
So I read the paragraph about the book.. I am confused.. My son eats great from a spoon.. I hold the spoon and feed him myself...eats the entire tub each time I feed him... but it said thaat they should feed themselves?
I don't understand? How in the world can a baby feed themselves purees from a spoon without it being a horrible mess and not getting ANY in their mouth?
I need an explanation perhaps?
BLW is not about purees. It is about exploring textures and understanding how to eat with their hands. They don't use a spoon at first and that gets introduced later. Z can eat with a spoon now, all.by.himself, at almost 9 months. He scoops up the cottage cheese with his spoon and puts it in his mouth.
Wholesomebabyfoods.com also has great references to BLW. I really need to get my blog up and running, but I've been lacking.
