I don't think it is fair that Diana was flamed almost to the point of GBCB for Sausagegate and no one says anything to Hot Sauce.
Hot Sauce, I don't have an issues with you and I don't care at all what anyone feeds their kid but doesn't the disparity ever get to you?

this.
ahhh so you were temp-banned
I definitely don't care especially since both Lily and Ophelia are some healthy looking kids. But not the point.
Why is one poster flameretardant and one is not?

I was thinking the same thing, maybe more people like Hotsauce?
I also don't care what anyone feeds their kids as long as they are feeding them.
I get what you are saying, and the whole sausage thing did get waaaaaay out of hand. But, in hotsauce's defense, there is a small difference. Diana's baby was 5-6 months old when she fed her sausage. Sausage is IMO a lot worse than what Hotsauce is feeding her LO. I don't plan on feeding DD sausage anytime soon. But I do feed her some of the things hotsauce listed, in moderation. Also, Hotsauce's DD is 8 months old, not 5-6 months. I don't care about the whole sausage thing any more, I'm on the "to each their own" boat now. Everyone parents their kids differently.
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too! It's FREE and EASY!
LOL
This thread is not to flame Hot Sauce but there is no difference in what she fed her LO than what Diana fed hers. Sausage, pizza, chicken nuggets, you cannot honestly think that there is any difference.
And Ophelia was 6 months old.
Diana probably does not appreciate me bringing this up again. I just wanted to point out the disparity. the same girls telling Hot sauce it was okay are the same ones that called Diana a moron. If the hypocrisy doesn't make you feel bad, then nothing I say will prove my point anyway.
I know right?! I had to write them down.

The Chaos of Six!
EDIT: That didn't make sense.
Ugh. I miss EVERYTHING when I'm only on at work during the day but I miss everything at night. <sigh>
I agree. I also think it's a bit of mob mentality as well. Once one person jumps on another person, esp if the person attacking is "popular", others will hop on the bandwagon.
Yankee-- I agree with you 110% if it's possible to even agree that much. End of story.
This. Disparity/hypocrisy, whatever. Some people are 'in', some are not, and they are treated differently. I never commented on the Diana thing, but I feel bad b/c I should have come to her defense. I probably would not follow in her sausage footsteps, but she was treated like a child abuser. I have no idea what HS is doing, but I'm sure it's equally as benign has Diana, as I think of them both as 'good mothers' from what I can see. Additionally, I think some of the people who are now saying 'I don't care' cared very much then!

I agree 100%. I think it depends on two factors.
A- how popular you are. If the popular kids like you, you can get away with anything. And, if one of the popular kids starts to flame you, the group of ladies I call the "bandwagon girls" jumps all over it. Sad some ladies are parents and still can't think for themselves
B-how you approach it. People who say things like " I did this, flame away" get the "do what you gotta do" response. People who are like, I did this is it okay? get flamed more. It's one of my least favorite things about the bump
I've noticed this, too.
Yankee, to answer you question: No, I don't think it's fair. Actually, sometimes I wish that the "popular kids" would get flamed, too. I'm not even on that much anymore. I'm not sure why people are afraid to flame me. I'm not the kind of person that would end up disliking someone if they called me out for doing something "wrong." I like the debate. It's why I've come to love you, Irish and Sassy so much.
As far as "Sausagegate 2010"....I'll admit, I gave Diana a hard time about it. But, she was defending her decisions and made some very valid points (everything in moderation!) and I'm not afraid to admit I was wrong. Her posts are actually what got me interested in BLW (we do a modified version). She and I are friends on FB now and I have come to respect her style of parenting. I even defended her postion on the period party this week, lol
A few months back I posted a few obnoxious posts one day trying to get flamed. Yeah, nothing. It's actually a little frustrating sometimes.
You're pretty well-loved on here, Yank. Has anyone flamed you?
ETA: Edit to fix Sausagegate not Sausagefest. That's something completely different.....
It's no fun to argue with you if you are going to be reasonable. This will not escalate to e-hair pulling or biting this way at all.
To answer your question, yes, I have been flamed. For telling Manda and Pammi that their mothers should have had an abortion. I had a few callouts after that but I think that was it. I wasn't posting as much as I am now so I wasn't considered a regular. If I did it now (I wouldn't) I think it would go over differently.
It's not you that I'm frustrated at. It's the mob mentality and the sheep that get me going. I want more people to get flamed, lol. And I want you and Nasty Annie and Shorty and all of the other ones that are considered bullet proof to give up their immunity. I want us to be equal opportunity flamers.
You stupid b!tch. I will feed my kid whateva the eff I want!!!!!! You don't know my lyfe!!!!!
Better?
I'll be honest. When I was new, I was more likely to jump into the mob without thinking. The longer I've been here, the more I tend to read a post, take a step back and then voice my true opinion. The problem is that if a newbie voices an opinion that is different from the "mob mentality" she's marked for all eternity. If a "popular" poster does the same thing, people take her opinons seriously.
ETA: As for immunity. I've tried to give it up plenty of times. I can't lose it...
I agree. You are one of the few that come to mind. A lot of women here do not think for themselves and blindly follow the crowd.
OMG, I sound like LHC.
Yes, better!
Why don't you guys use your power for good then? If you see someone jumping on the bandwagon, why not defend that person when she has no one to back her up.
If only one of you had stood up for Diana the thread would have played out differently.
I agree. I know I was wrong.
However, did you read her post Wednesday about the 1st B-Day vs. Period B-Day? I totally stood up for her in that post, thankyouverymuch.
Uh, no and I have never heard of a period party. My daughter might have been mortified when she got her period at 11. She is open about it now. She doesn't have any hang ups about it and will usually send H out for some pads.
I think Diana is an awesome mother and i'm sure ophelia will be grateful when she is old enough. And then she will turn on her but she still has a while.

I just now saw HS's post.
I think both were wrong, I just don't have the energy to get into it today. I think the difference is HS knows its flameful where as diane defended it to the death.
