Sorry I didn't post an update yesterday. I had a banquet in which I was accpeting an award last night and didn't have time to log back in.
Anyway, the appt wasn't good. My blood pressure is up and reading 138/74. While it's not in the dangerous zone yet, it's still really elevated from my baseline at around 96/60. It has steadily risen over the course of the entire pregnancy.
Also, there were trace amounts of protein in my urine. Argh!! I'm doing another 24 hour urine collection to see where my results are from my baseline and giving bloodwork again to check my liver counts.
I'm on modified bedrest at this point and they want me to be laying down for 16 hours a day including sleep - so technically 8 more additional hours. No cleaning, shopping, or picking up Katie.
We talked about hospital admissions and at what point I will be admitted to the hospital. I could be admitted to the hospital for 24 hours just to see how my blood pressure is reading throughout the course of that timeframe. I will be admitted though if there is a signifiance rise in my protien and/or high BP readings.
Also, it wasn't fun to hear the MFM say, "It looks as if we will probably have these babies sooner rather than later. You have a double whammy against with with carrying twins and having a history of pre-e" Argh! Not something I wanted to hear.
Around this time is when I starting to get sick with Katie, but didn't realize it until 32 weeks( when I was admitted) since I was on monthly OB visits and still felt pretty good. I still remember at my 28 week visit that my OB said, "Oh, the swelling is typical pregnancy swelling. Oh, your above average weight gain was probably due to the holidays. Oh, the headaches is a normal sign during pregnancy." It still frustrates me to this day since those were all signs leading up to my pre-e diagnosis.
So basically, now I just sit back and watch to see if pre-e is going to rear her ugly head again. It's moving towards that direction and we are hoping that with my increased rest and monitoring, we will be able to make it into December. Wish us luck as we are going to need it.

Ugh, Becky!! Was hoping you received more positive news from your check-ups, but at least the doctors are being so proactive and monitoring you so closely to ensure the health and safety of the girls and you! That is certainly a plus.
I'm sorry that pre-e signs are showing up again for you. Boo!
I can only imagine how tough bed rest is, especially when you lead a busy life with an active toddler! However, keep in mind that you're doing the best by resting and taking it easy. If it's any consolation, my friend from OU has been on bed rest since week 32 because she delivered her son at 35 wks due to pPROM and she has made it all the way to 37 wks with her second singleton now...she said the bed rest was awful, but it was the best for her and the baby.
I am praying that the babies stay put until December!
Stay put babies and BP stay down. These are Aunt Julie's orders!
I guess I also want to say that what upsets me is that you really are the best mom! and the best pg lady too. You always (in life no matter what the issue) go above and beyond to educate yourself and stay on top of things and prepare everyone and yourself for what can happen and I think it just sucks that Pre-e is like a stalker waiting around the corner to pounce. I wish no mommy ever had to get Pre-e.
I want to punch pre-e in the face for you.BIG HUGS!Awww that's scary, have you or when will they do steroid shots?
