My Thursday Beef (instead of UO)

I figure that Thursday UO's actually are mostly PO's ("popular" opinions) and are, for the most part, just complaints and pet peeves.  So here's mine:

It irritates the bejeepers out of me when people misuse the word "literally".  I am a stickler for grammar to begin with, as I was a creative writing major in college, but for some reason the "literally" thing is the worst.

I mean, really, stupid phrases like "My heart literally jumped into my throat" or "I'm literally floating on air with happiness"... seriously, go to Websters, read the definition of literally, and rephrase... or take a photo if those things really, "literally" happened, because I would sure like to see that!
