We started DS on rice cereal when he was around 4.5 months. He's eating second fruits and veggies now, but I'm still mixing them with either rice or oatmeal. Is this necessary or can he have the fruits and veggies on their own? I'm EBFing and I feel so clueless about solids.

my pedi said by 9 months he should eat cereal 2xday and a fruit or veggies once per day.
Cereal is more important than veggies/fruits b/c its mixes with BM or fomula and has more nutrients than the veggies/fruits.
DS hates cereal now (wheat, oats, rice) but we will mix his veggies in with the cereal and he loves it. (right now he is eating 1 serving cereal and 1/2 a serving of veggies per day, soon we will switch to fruits)
This is what I thought too. I plan to give it to him until his 9m appt - and I will ask about it then. He loves his cereal so.
