I sent an email out to all of our friends and family today about our desire to adopt. I also posted on my blog about it. I figured that if we are going to have to find an birth mother on my own (for a private adoption), we could use all the help we can get.
Just a little while ago, a friend emailed me about her brother and sister-in-law. They wanted to foster-to-adopt, but weren't able to make their schedules work to attend the classes required to be licensed. They were able to have someone come to their house (for free) and teach them the material. They were able to adopt a little boy almost immediately. We had talked about fostering-to-adopt, but would also not be able to make it to the classes, so I'm stoked at this new possibility.
I know that if we go with fostering-to-adopt, we will probably not get a newborn, but we had already agreed to taking a child under two years old.
I just wanted to share with you, since I know you are potentially looking at adoption. I'm shocked at how fast I got a response, and eternally grateful for the information, even if we do not go that way.
((hugs)) to you. I hope today is a better day.
Re: Bubbly
Oh wow. That is good info to know. And awesome how fast you got a response.
Today is a better day. Every day it stings a little less. And I know, one way or another, there will be at least one more child in this home. It will just take longer to get here than we originally planned.
(((HUGS))) right back at you. And best of luck in your journey.
You take my ovaries, I take your yarns.
