Round Ligament?

I am having this "pain" that is at about the same level as my belly button but closer to each of my sides. It almost feels like a stretching. I was wondering if this was RL pain and if anyone else has felt anything like this? I have been feeling it for the past few days (I am 10w3d).

  • I get that pain too.  Its usually very short and it happens when I sit down or sit up too quickly.

  • I get that too. If feels like someone sat and just poked my tummy and wouldn't stop. Almost like I'm bruised. Hopefully it's RLP, I hate having mysterious pains. Gets me worried something is wrong!
  • OH MY GOODNESS! I was getting on here to post about Round Ligament pain and yours was the first post on the board! wierd...

So I was garage sale hopping with my sister last saturday and I was like, "Bekah! Hollyy molly, this hurts" & she told me if it felt like side stich than it was round ligament cramping. Your ligaments basically are stretching. She told me she went to the ER with them, unknowingly when she was pregnant with her first.

     They absolutely SUCK!

It doesn't hurt me too bad... just more annoying than anything!

And YES... side stitch is exactly what it feels like!!!

  • Yes, I have been having that this week. Sometimes it's just a quick jab of pain and sometimes it seems to persist for a few moments and comes and goes all day. Last night I rolled over in bed and it felt like I had pulled a  muscle in my lower abdomen! Luckily it went away after about 10 minutes.

    The joys of pregnancy :)

  • Yes, I have been getting it for a lil over a week now.  My doc said they are RLP.  They started in my lower pelvic area and have now moved up to around my belly-button.  My OB said this was normal - just our lil babies growing!

    Hope you get some relief!

  • It's funny that you just posted this today because I've been having it recently, too, and finally looked it up in a book last night and the section on round ligament pain exactly described what I've been feeling.  Mainly I have it when I stretch or stand up after sitting for a while....

That's when I get it too. And occasionally when coughing/sneezing but not every time.
