What do you mean this is your second Halloween? I'm confused. Anyway, it's on Sunday so that's when kids will come knocking. I'm hoping nobody comes to my apartment because DD and I are sick and I didn't get candy!
It depends on your town. In the 5 parish "metro" area around here the date varies from Saturday to Monday depending on the town. Our town is trick or treating on Sunday. Check your local paper - they should have the dates listed.

I'm from Venezuela and I've been living in Canada only for a couple of years (almost 3 actually). Anyway, we don't celebrate halloween down there, just Carnival (Mardi Grass) and that is in February-March
Halloween is always on the 31st, but you will have to check your local paper for the "trick or treat night". Ours is always the Thursday before Halloween which I think is stupid, but that's how they do it in Central PA.

our town never changes the day of halloween and always does it on the 31st but i know some small towns around here do it the weekend before (aka the 30th)
And i just had to LOL when I read your title and thought to myself, "and i thought there was no such thing as a stupid question.." haha. But i get it
Am I the only one that had no idea that cities actually have a certain trick or treat night? That is so weird to me.....
You're not alone! I had NO idea until I heard about it on the Bump. But then again, we live in the same city and our area doesnt impose weird ToT times. Halloween is Oct 31 and thats when people ToT. Every year. Even during blizzards!
Not a stupid question. I contacted my Chamber of Commerce to get the correct information and in my area some towns are ToTing on Saturday and some are Sunday. Contact a city office and they should be able to tell you.

Halloween is always October 31st.
Like Valentine's Day is always February 14th.
I don't care if certain towns/cities celebrate on alternate days. That doesn't change when the holiday is.
