Middle Names for Mary?

DH loves the name Mary, but we are having a hard time finding a good middle name that goes with it. Our last name begins with N, so I'm ruling out any middle names that begin with A and E (don't want her initials to me MAN or MEN).

As much as I love the name Mary Jane, the pot reference knocks that out of the running. Mary Kate and Mary Claire aren't options for us either.

Any suggestions??!!!

I love the name, Mary - it's a great under-appreciated name that's overdue.

I would avoid a short middle name, personally - it sounds like a double first name or a shoe.

Mary Elizabeth/Elisabeth is a safe bet. So is Mary Catherine (sounds religious though) or Mary Caroline. I'd like a bit more aventure though...

As much as I like classic names, I think you have to avoid saints' names in this situation. It's really hard to come up with one that doesn't sound like a nun.

I'd use a family surname or a noun (though nouns can be tricky because Mary can sound like merry or marry):

Mary Joy

Mary Violet

Mary Willow
