Vent about the holidays

It's really hard, frustrating, annoying and emotionally draining.... trying to make a holiday schedule/plans based on my wishes, my H's wishes, and the wishes of 2 familys that live 5 states apart!!!!!

UGH!! It makes me want to hide under my covers and never come out.

Anyone else???

This is why we decided to stay home for Christmas this year. Our family lives in the area and it was still too hard to make everyone happy, I can't imagine how difficult it would be with family all over the country. We were trying to hard to make other people happy and making ourselves miserable in the process. I can't wait to stay home and play with my girls and their new toys all day.

this is why i dislike the holidays... but i've said it for years now and i'm sticking to it: now that we have a baby, we stay home. who wants to come to us, fine. who doesn't- their loss not ours.

Make plans for you and your family first. It's time for you to make happy memories for your children. DH and I have discussed that Christmas morning is for us now.

We will continue to do Christmas Eve at my mom's, and we will go to his mom's later on Christmas Day (we live within 60 mile of each other), and even though we spend New Years at FIL's, we may have to plan something sooner for LO to spend time with them to open gifts. We will do whatever we can, but if we don't get to everyone I will not stress out. People will get bothered, but everyone forgets once January comes around.
