Anyone get pink eye while pregnant??

I think pattypoundcake said she has it--and I'm curious about anyone else and how they treated it.  I'm not sure if that's what I have or not--I've only had it once in my life and it feels similar.  The last time they gave me steroids for my eyes (drops) and lubricating drops and no antibiotics.

They gave me antibiotic eye drops. My son had it too.

LAst week my right eye started to really bother me and was oozing like crazy. I went home and put one drop of visine in it and it was completely fine within minutes. I would maybe try some regular eye drops, just in case it's a minor irritation.

I had pinkeye while 5/6 months pregnant. Got it while traveling along with a cold so I thought it was just the pregnancy making me more susceptible to infection. The doctor prescribed Aureomycin like an ointment you put in your eye because everything else they usually give for pink eye is not necessarily dangerous but hasn't been tested on pregnant women. It cleared up within a week or so.

I had pink eye while pregnant a few years ago.  It was very oozy and gross.  I went to the eye dr and she gave me drops; I think they were antibiotics.  Then I went for my ob checkup a week later and my dr told me to just come see him next time because he would have given me something different.  It wasn't a problem but they're just extra careful when you're pregnant.  If it's not really gunky but just red it's probably a viral infection and will go away on its own in a few days.  But, it doesn't hurt to ask your dr and he can give you something for it if necessary.

I just got over pink eye two weeks ago and I'm 12 weeks pregnant. My doctor prescribed antibiotic eye drops and it cleared up within two days. Apparently when you have strep throat, which I had , it's bad to touch your eyes! Tip for the future!

I got pink eye when I was about 10 weeks pregnant.  The doctor gave me antibiotic drops, but when I asked the pharmacist she suggested Polysporin drops instead as it wasn't worth the risk to the baby to take antibiotics.

If you aren't sure what's going on with your eye, it's better to be safe than sorry, go to the doctor.

i had it in my second month, i let it go away on its own... just made sure to keep it clean put a warm wet rag on it at home and clean it regularly
