17 month old refusing table food?

I know some kids go through a picking eating stage, but can it happen this young?  DS #1 has always been a picky eater from the beginning, but DS#2 would eat anything we put in front of him from the time he started eating table food and now all of a sudden he's refusing to eat.

How long has it been?  If only a couple days, it may be that he's cutting some teeth, specifically his molars - and it is just really sore/hard to chew.  

I'd try some soft things - yogurt, banana, pudding, oatmeal, mashed potatoes...and see if it gets better in a few days.

I thougth teeth at first also, but he's been doing it for about 2 weeks now
