DandR--answering your booster question

The back itself provides no protection for the child, however, a high back booster with headwings (side impact protection) definitely offers a huge advantage over a backless booster. What seat is she in? If the thread for the seatbelt is below her shoulder, she needs to be in backless mode. Your seat should have come with a little clip that can attach to the seatbelt to position the seatbelt in the right place across her shoulder. If you don't have it any more (I think they're generally red clips), you can call the company and ask for a new one. It's good to see most kids in a high back seat until 8 or so, if at all possible.

  • Thank you so much!!! I looked again, and she still has a tiny bit of room before she's at the belt level.  I just noticed one day earlier this week that it looked like she was above...but I think we have a bit longer.

I'm not sure what the type is...we bought it a couple of years ago when my MIL bought us a mini crib thingy that we didn't need.  exchanged the crib for things we NEEDED.  Its a graco brand, and it does have a bit of wings by the head.

  • It's a graco turbobooster. It definitely does come with the strap for the backless booster. Of course, we have a turbo in my IL's car, and I have no earthly clue where the strap is. You can call graco to get a replacement if you find the belt doesn't fit her appropriately without it (when the time comes).
