DH was just in a wreck with DS. He was at a stop sign and was rear ended. It was low impact and there is just a small dent in the bumper. I asked the officer if the carseat needed to be replaced and he basically blew me off. Does the seat need to be replaced? Thanks.

Re: carseat experts
you can use this criteria as a guide...
https://www.nhtsa.gov/people/injury/childps/childrestraints/reuse/restraintreuse.htm
Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination... but in most cases, the person at fault's insurance should pay for a new (identical) carseat if there is any damage to either vehicle. Did your DH exchange info with the other driver?
Hope your DH and DS are ok
Jetta's link it what I would check too. Also, check your seat's manufacturer too. They will have information about the potential need to replace.
ETA: And since you didn't mention injuries, I am going to assume that your DH and DS are okay. (((hugs))) since that's scary, though!
