VBAC

New Jersey VBAC

I've tried posting in South Jersey, with no luck. So I'm going to try here.

Does anyone in the Jersey area have information on VBAC friendly OBs, midwives, hospitals?

I'm in South Jersey, near Cherry Hill. From Google, it sounds like the hospital in trenton has tubs in their suites and is midwife/VBAC friendly, but now I need a group that goes to that hospital. I'll also take any other suggestions as far as hospitals/groups go. I'd prefer not to travel more than a half hour, but, if its for a better birth experience, I will.

TIA for ANY information anyone might have.

Re: New Jersey VBAC

  • I have heard good things about this group before.

This practice is farther north, Kimball Medical Center or something, in Lakewood.  It's a group of midwives and doctors that boasts the lowest C-section rate in NJ (I'm betting this is for practices with a physician in them, as the above group is only midwives).  https://womens-health-associates.com/index.html

  • Englewood Hospital does VBAC at their birth center.  I'm not sure it is still open though.  Good luck!
  • I see the midwives at https://www.lawrenceobgyn.com/ and love them. They deliver at capital health in trenton.  When I was pg the second time they were very supportive of my plan to vbac and even after I had a 2nd tri D&E they said I was still a candidate for it.  Good luck.

p.s. I don't even belong here seeing as I'm not pg now but I just had to check out the new board!

  • I live in South Jersey, about 20 minutes from Cherry Hill, and my OB office is very supportive of VBAC.  I barely knew what a VBAC was, when my OB told me just hours after my C-section that I could VBAC for my next delivery.  I go to OB/GYN associates of Washington Twp.  Drs. Richichi, DiGiovanni, Huggins, and Nevins.  The first three are great, but Dr. Huggins is by far my favorite.  Dr. Nevins doesn't have the best bedside manner and performed my C-section so I just have a lot of negative emotions associated with her.  But overall, I would highly recommend their practice.  Good luck!
