TTC After a Loss 6 Months+

things that make you go "huh!?"

My doctor's office just called me back and I'm puzzled by their answer

ME two days ago: Hi, it's Heidi.  MC in July, AF's every 28 days but they're only lasting one day, anything wrong?

Them Today: Dr. Blah Blah Blah wants to know if you check to see you're ovulating.

Me: Yep, I check my temps in the morning and I can tell that I'm ovulating but the temps post O have been a little lower than they used to be

Them: okay, we'll call you back

Them: Okay, Dr. Blah blah blah said instead of relying on temps, you need to use ovulation kits to prove that you're Oing next month and we'll go from there

Huh? Me: Um, okay, thanks

  • I would ask for your progesterone levels to be checked too.  Your body could be gearing up to O but not actually go through with it.

  • OPK doesn't tell you you ovulated, just tells you that you have an LH surge. I have gotten positive OPK's then not ovulated. I swear, Dr.'s are so stupid sometimes.

You should probably do OPK's and charting so you can go to the Dr. with that information if you are still having the problem next cycle.

  • Oh FFS.

I don't think some of these Dr.s realize that what they're suggesting is going to take MONTHS.

If you don't feel like waiting, I agree that maybe you should request some further testing sooner.

I'm sorry you're getting the runaround.  UGH!!!

  • ::::Headdesk:::: for sure.  My OB nurses are clueless on the whole process.  When I ask them for my progesterone number every month they act like it's a weird request.  And they think everyone ovulates on CD14.

  • Ummm.  No way.  We should have all been doctors, it must really not be that hard.

  • That's ridiculous. An OPK, as we all know, doesn't tell you that you've Oed. Well merited headdesk, I might add.

This, if they can do it and get away with it why can't we join the fun. Then we could prescribe meds for each other and actually know where to find an OB that cares!
