Oregon Babies

It's been one hell of a year!

This is my 2010:

January: we lost our beloved dog, Klaus. Very unexpected, still quite shocked by the whole thing.

February: adopted another dog only to learn that we would have to put him back up for adoption due to a procedure he required that would have cost us $8000 which we did not, and still do not have to spend on a dog. We were lucky to find a great organization in WA that fosters special need dogs. They have since raised enough money for the surgery and found a great couple to adopt him, they live in Vancouver.

May: I lost my job.

June: We found out I was pregnant, a bit of a surprise, but a happy surprise.

July: started a new job for a great firm in Portland!

September: resumed our re-model project.

October: just got off the phone with the hubby to find that he has been let go! This could not have come at a worse time. Re-model project on pause, most likely will not be done by February =(

I'm trying not to stress over the recent events that have occurred, but it's easier said than done. This is going to be a real struggle for us and I hope that my husband is able to get back into the workforce shortly, but I know our economy is struggling right now. 2010 has been one of the most eventful years of my life. Everytime something bad happened, something great in return would happen, followed by another horrible event. Hopefully this is the final horrible event of the year and we can finish it off on a positive note.

Thanks for letting me vent.

  • This has been us since Fall of 08! But on the positive note, if we can get through this tough time together (and survive emotionally and financially) we can get through ANYTHING!

GL to you and YH, and try to be comforted by the fact that you have been tested and prevailed. Nothing can get you down!

This is exactly how I look at it.  Just since July we have been through cancer, miscarriage, chemo, possible sterility (won't know for 6 months), received our first property tax bill for $2500, a week later got our first bill for the chemo (month of September) $1100 (can't wait to get Octobers), my very best friend since I was 13 might be moving away for a job and have our in laws living with us and have NO idea when they will find their own place.  We also lost our second car in May (right before we bought our condo) so that really hasn't helped anything.  But I fully believe everything happens for a reason and we learn so much from these situations.  My hubby and I have been off and on rocky patches since my LO was born last year and this whole cancer thing and him being home for the last two months have really made us that much closer.  As HAPPY!!!! as I am that he finally went back to work today (and now I get to be home with the in-laws alone with my LO), I wish that he worked from home just as much.  It was so nice having my best friend around 24/7.  :)

Just take a deep breath.  It will all work out!  I promise! :D
