Trouble TTC

ladies with cysts willing to share some info

after some TCOYF and WebMD reading, I'm just wondering how people found out they had ovarian cysts and what kind.  Did you suspect it before going to the doctor or was it completely unexpected?  Any symptoms?  How was it treated?

Re: ladies with cysts willing to share some info

  • I knew I had cysts prior to TTC. I knew because of some pain I had in my abdomen. So the dr did an u/s and I had a cyst. The RE hasn't told me what kind of cysts but I'm guessnig corpus luteum because they go away on their own.

When I go in for my baseline u/s on CD3 they check for them. As long as they are small and not producing estrogen then I can go forward with treatment for the month. If they are big or producing estrogen then I have to sit the month out. By the next cycle they are usually gone.

Hope this helps and good luck!

  • I seem to get them after taking provera. I go on bcp's for a month and they are gone by next time.

If there's one thing I've learned while waiting my turn,
it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.
After 2 years & 2 losses, our little man arrived 8-2011.
  • I found out I currently have cysts.  Not sure why.  I guess something with my IVF cycle caused them.  I was going to start Estrace and Provera to see if that would make them go away, but I am supposed to start Provera a week from Friday for my IVF cycle.  So, I am hoping they go away on their own and this cycle ends this week like it supposed to.

If the cysts are still present and still producing estrogen when I go in next week, then I will probably have to have them aspirated.
