Phenergan?

I was prescribed phenergan about 2 months ago because of my morning,noon,and night sickness. I don't like taking any medicines or prescription drugs due to prior allergic reactions so I never took it.I have just been dealing with the constant nausea.The vomiting has died down.The past 2 days I've been throwing up everything I eat and I'm having first trimester flashbacks! Has anyone ever taken phenergan?

My OB called this in for me in my 1st tri. I've had Phenergan in the past, but I decided to have her call in Zofran instead. Phenergan always made me very sleepy. Considering the fatigue that comes with being pregnant, I decided against taking it. Zofran worked wonders for me.

Did you give your doctor a complete list of the drugs that you've had a reaction to in the past? If you haven't you should do so, they will need to know what you're allergic to before prescribing anything.

I was thinking the same thing as far as the fatigue goes.I'm tired almost always and although I'd love to sleep all day I can't. I have an appointment tonight with my prenatal group so I'll bring up the possibility of taking zofran. To be honest, I've never even heard of phenergan and that alone makes me nervous.Zofran seems to be quite popular.

They do have a list at my doctors office of the meds I'm allergic/sensitive to.But I seem to have a reaction to almost everything given to me.Even vitamins.It's weird!

I agree, Phenergan knocks me out quick. If you don't have anywhere to go, take it and enjoy a nice nap!

If you have to work or function, Zofran is great!

It worked really well for me, I had no side effects either.

My doctor gave me a script for both Phenergan and Tigran.  I have only taken the Phenergan a few times becuase it made me extra sleepy.  But the Tigran works wonders.

Phenergan always made me WAY too sleepy so I opted for zofran.

My doc prescribed both phenegren and zofran. with my first pregnancy, she only gave me zofran...and it didn't work very well. This time, she warned me to take the phenegren at night because it would make me sleepy...which I told her was totally fine with me because my 2 1/2 yr old has decided that he doesn't like to sleep at night anymore, thus I haven't been sleeping well at all. I absolutely love it!!
