Wow! I worry about hearing crap from my CP about my baby being too big next time around (not pregnant yet, but trying). My son was 9lbs 4oz at exactly 40 weeks.
Yeah, it was a shock to me, too! I figured he'd be bigger than his brother bc I got stretch marks a lot sooner, and he was 42 weeks when I went into labor, but I was guessing more along the lines of 9 lbs. I did have a really laid-back MW who never speculated about his size, and I also refused an amniotic fluid check the day before I went into labor, mainly bc I was worried about the hospital finding some reason to put pressure on me - there probably wasn't much fluid left, and I can only imagine what would have happened if they had a size estimate for him.
I was much more worried about his position, though - DS1 was 8lb 4oz, but he was posterior/sunny-side up, and just didn't come out, but DS2 was anterior til the end.
Just remember the ultrasounds they do for size, weight and fluid check are not very accurate and the accuracy can have a lot to do with who does the sono. Find a provider that you trust and know that they wont pressure you into any unwanted interventions.
Re: nosoup4u - you pushed out an almost 11-pounder?!

You can do it, seriously! I would shy away from weight estimates, though, hee hee. This is a good video to watch, too! https://www.ican-online.org/community/videos/laureen/question-cpd
