Chicken Squares? Except in our family they are called chicken bundles?
Shredded chicken, mushrooms, cream cheese, green onions and then bundle them up in a crescent roll and bake them.
I also make a thicker cream of chicken soup to use as a gravy over the top. And I don't always use all the ingredients I listed above. If I'm short on time I'll buy the cream cheese with chives and onions in it, and canned chicken.
How funny! I am not sure which one was going around but I'm actually making my version of "chicken pot pies" right now. Here's mine..it's super basic
4 chicken breasts
2 cans of crescent rolls
Shake N' bake
3/4 cup of cream cheese.
mixed veggies (peas, carrots corn)
I cook the chicken breasts with the Original Shake n Bake. Then after they have cooled off a bit I pull the chicken apart and mix it with the cream cheese and cooked veggies. For each use two traiditional crescent rolls to hold the mixture and seal it at the top to a point. Cook for 10- to 15 min.
I just bake chicken salad (any recipe) in them... I usually use either a chicken curry recipe (which I don't know off the top of my head) or a regular old chicken salad with celery, onion, grapes and mayo.
3 oz cream cheese (I use Neufchatel or whatever the lower fat version is called)
3TB butter
2 cups cubed or shredded chicken
1 TB or so of milk
2 TB of minced onions
1 package reduced fat crescent rolls (reduced fat seem to work best for me)
salt and pepper to taste
preheat to 350. melt cream cheese and butter, add cubed chix, milk, onion, S&P. flatten two rolls into a square and put 1/4 of chix mixture in the middle. bring corners of square together to enclose chix mix and bake for 20 min.
You can a bunch of different veggies to this basic recipe. I almost always chop up a bunch of fresh spinach and stick it in there.
