Used cloth diaper cost

Hi everyone, this is my first post here since I am just just pregnant. I saw an ad on kijiji today for cloth diapers.

My first question is: Would you all buy used diapers? Is it sanitary?

And my second question: What would be a good price for (Bummis) 20 newborn prefolds with 4 bummi whisper wrap covers, and approximately 18-20 large size prefolds with 3 bummis whisper wrap covers.

The seller stated they are all in good condition but she has no price listed.

ETA: If you have any recommendations on other brands/types of diapers, I would really appreciate the info. As for right now, I'm totally going to stalk this board to learn more.

Not sure what a good price would be, but beware that those covers only have one gusset.  The double gusset works much better for holding in NB poop reliably.

Thank you! I haven't even begun research on cloth diapers yet so that info is good to have.

I guess another question would be a cloth diaper req. I will go back and edit my post.

I'd suggest trying a cloth diaper trial (I think Jillian's Drawers has one) before you commit to buying one brand.  We have mainly bumGenius diapers (we used Kissaluv 0's with covers during the newborn stage) and while I like them, I've found other brands I like a little more for different reasons. It made me wish I had tried other diapers before buying an entire stash of bumGenius diapers (though I do really like them, when the aplix doesn't rub on my son's tummy).

I agree w/ the pp.  I wish in hindsight I would have done the trial. It is PFs along with several other types of diapers so you can determine what you like & what fits your baby well before you dole out money.

I bought used and am very happy.  I just wash before wear and make it happen.  I use craigslist.
