DH and I really loved it when we first started looking at it / learning about it. The only reasons we didn't get one were:
1. I know someone who has one and said it was way too heavy for her.
2. It was much more expensive than the other options we were looking at.
3. They don't sell it in this country, so we couldn't test it ourselves.
All that said, we read a lot of write-ups about it and people seem to love them! If you are getting one for free, I'd DEFINITELY take it. If you are buying it used, I would still get it, if it weren't too expensive...
Thanks...we will be getting a new one for free....but just wanted to see what people's reviews were for it. If you did not go with the G2...what did you get?
We looked at them but I didn't care for the lack of storage and I carry tons of stuff with me so I need lots of storage. We are getting the Uppababy Vista. I say if your getting it for free that is great, take it. If you don't like it once you get it you can always go out and get something else. Maybe your friends will let you test it out for a few days to see what you think if you don't want to take it without knowing if you like it or not. I know it helped to go to the store and push them around and fold them up.
We have one!! We registered for it and every part that comes with it like the bassinet, foot muff, weather pack, travel bag, and toddler seat and my parents bought every piece for us!
We love it, the car seat is lighter than most car seats that we tested and the stroller base is not heavy (I was 88lbs pre preg so I am tiny). We ended up looking at the orbit because of the car seat, and it was one of the safest seats we found. That and the Britax. We ended up going with the Orbit because of the features, the shape was different (like a cocoon), materials, came with a shield and inserts, rotating base (great for rear facing) and weight. DH is an engineer so we looked around A LOT! Many of our friends have this stroller and LOVE it!! In terms of stroller, I liked that it came with every piece, like the bassinet, stroller seat etc. The stroller is truly a one click fold and very easy to maneuver. When folded, it is shaped like a small rectangular box, very compact. It comes with adjustable handle bars that are separated which comes in handy for anyone about 6 ft like DH. There is also some storage under the base (equivalent to that of an average diaper bag), a cup holder and a place for your cell phone. Don't worry about the consumer reports reviews, they did something wrong and didn't want to admit it. One trial with the car seat and you will see their claim is wrong and they just don't want to admit it because people blindly believe them, so they will lose some credibility. We did our own research and found no problems.
I am also looking at the stokke and uppa baby for my babysitter's place. She won't be driving her around and just requires a bassinet and stroller seat....The uppa baby was kind of bulky in my opinion so we might end up getting the stokke.
